Supporting Emergent Bilingual Success Part 1: From Data to Delivery, Mastering the Updated ELPS

Description
Discover how to transform language proficiency data into actionable classroom instruction. Built around the updated Texas ELPS framework, this course shifts the responsibility of language development from a "specialist-only" task to a universal instructional strategy. Participants will master the five-level language continuum, unpack the new Content-Specific PLD Matrices for Math, Science, and Social Studies, and learn to calculate a student’s "Linguistic Floor" and "Ceiling." By the conclusion of this course, you will be equipped to select and deploy targeted scaffolding intensities—Substantial, Moderate, and Light—ensuring language barriers never compromise academic rigor.

This course is a prerequisite to Part 2.

This course has a required time duration of 3 hours and timestamps your progression in each section, lesson, assignment, and submission. Users will have 10 days to complete this course from the day of registration.
